Meet Ali Montez

Behind the Artist

Ali Montez performed in the ensemble of Sondheim's The Frogs directed by Ted Sperling and choreographed by Lainie Sakakura at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

She took the role of dance captain and swing in the reconstruction of The Verdon Fosse Legacy’s Rich Man’s Frug by Lainie Sakakura at Point Park University and also performed as a principal dancer in Lloyd Culbreath’s reconstruction of The Verdon Fosse Legacy’s Gisela from Pippin at Steps on Broadway.

Ali has modeled for Sheetz, appearing on many of their advertisements and billboards. She has a well developed modeling portfolio with pictures by the reputable Douglas Tjelmeland.

Artist’s biography

Ali Montez is a dancer and performer originally from Denver, Colorado. She is a recent graduate of Point Park University (Class of 2023) with a BFA in jazz dance and a BA in Social Media Management.

Ali started dancing when she was three years old. She grew up training in every style of dance and has over fifteen years of performance experience. She received her pre-professional training at the Denver School of the Arts and Sweatshop Dance. Her professional dance career started at just seventeen years old when she performed choreography by Jacob Mora at The National Tributes Award Show. From there, she traveled to numerous locations across the United States assisting for NRG Dance Project. In college, she started off her freshman year as a swing in the world premiere of Kiesha Lalama’s Bound in Before. She has worked with many reputable choreographers including, Sarah O'Gleby, Lainie Sakakura, Candace Brown, Lloyd Culbreath, Maud Arnold, Eliza Ohman, Rocker Verastique, Danny Herman, Kenna Morris Garcia, Jason McDole, Kiki Lucas, Amy Hall Garner, Jessica Lang, and Jacob Mora (Moraporvida Contemporary Dance). She has also participated in numerous dance on camera projects, including starring as a dancer in Get it Get it by Dylan Anthony Photography & Film and as a dancer and actress in The Definition of Success.

Outside of dance, she has studied private voice for over five years, training with Carmen LoPresti from the Pittsburgh CLO and Thespina Christulides at Point Park University. She's also studied scene work with Paul Reynolds and on camera acting with Mike Pointer.

Ali enjoys being present in the moment, making memories with her friends and family, traveling, and creating.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Ali is a fighter of the life-threatening disease Cystic Fibrosis, and dances to inspire and raise money for a cure. Her mission is to be a role model for others to live a life they are proud of despite their circumstances.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation

As a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ali performed in Disney’s Newsies at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. She is passionate about helping other people's wishes come true, too.

The Legacy Foundation

Ali works with The Legacy Foundation and has appeared on ABC’s The Bachelorette raising awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.
